Today's world is all about convenience and time. College students often find themselves struggling to find time to study. Because a lot of college students work, it can be hard to create a schedule that allows for work and school. With this in mind many colleges, including University of Wisconsin - Superior has created a way for students to earn a degree online. University of Wisconsin - Superior's virtual education center is known as the Distance Learning program.
At University of Wisconsin - Superior gives students the chance to choose from a variety of different online majors. Variety is important to online degrees as students don't want to be confined to only a few possibilities. Some of these majors are elementary education, communicating arts, sustainable management, and an Associate's degree in arts and science.
While the institute offers these majors, one extremely unique degree program that the college supports is one known as the Individually Designed Major program. The Individually Designed Major allows students to take part in an interdisciplinary educational program where students can focus on at least three different areas of study. These study areas should relate directly to the student's educational and career goals. This program is available entirely online, which means student's can enroll in University of Wisconsin - Superior's Distance Learning program and complete this degree from start to finish without ever laying foot inside of a classroom. The program is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges & Schools and can be completed in various ways. In the end all that matters is that the student is able to earn 120 credits.
Along with exciting majors, University of Wisconsin - Superior also provides an array of minors for students to excel in as well. These minors include health, geology, philosophy, library science, early childhood, health education, social studies teaching, special education, human performance, and many others. Minors are a great way for students to enhance their college education by being able to take in even more knowledge that will be useful for the future, especially when it comes time to enter the workforce.
To ensure that each student enrolled in the college's Distance Learning program succeeds, University of Wisconsin - Superior has created several resources for online students to use including technology help, an online bookstore, an e-library, and an interactive student service center that allows students to communicate virtually. Online students often get the chance to work and interact with other in groups. University of Wisconsin - Superior has worked hard to make online learning seem no different than traditional courses.
