Mathematics teachers are in short supply. If you are thinking of going into teaching and want to earn your degree in Mathematics, now is the time to do it. You will be scooped up quickly by school districts who need math coordinators and dedicated math teachers.
You can choose to work at the elementary, middle school or high school level with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics. You can also earn a PhD in Mathematics and go on to teach college level courses.

If you're planning on becoming certified for high school, you will need secondary level teaching courses. You will then need to pass your state's teacher certification exams in Math.
Many school districts now hire math coordinators. These skilled teachers head up the math department and help their fellow teachers find the best practices for teaching math. Students can range from elementary level to high school. Often, the math coordinator will be hired to work in more than one school in the district.

Look for scholarships and financial aid if you need it whether you attend school online or in person. You will qualify in the same way no matter which venue you attend.
